Getting around Blackburn with Darwen
Between the M65 and the moors.
Blackburn has a cathedral at its centre, the Victorian Corporation Park on the hill above town and Witton Country Park on its western edge. The M65 links it to Preston and Burnley, the A666 climbs south through Darwen, where Darwen Tower looks out from the moors, and the A59 leads out into the Ribble Valley.
A logbook loan lets you borrow against a vehicle you own without parting with it. The loan is secured on the vehicle, and you keep the keys and use it every day. We never ask for your V5C logbook or spare key, and ownership comes back to you once the loan is repaid.
How it works in Blackburn
Benefits, a new job and your income.
If your income includes benefits, you can still apply. We consider your application in the same way as anyone else's: you need to meet our criteria and be able to comfortably afford the repayments. Sharing 60 days of bank statements through Open Banking shows us your income, whatever its source, and helps us check that.
If you have recently started a new job and your wages are not on your bank statements yet, we will usually ask to see your contract of employment instead. That way a change of job does not have to hold your application back.
If you fall behind
Talk to us as early as you can. We will work with you to find a good outcome, such as a payment arrangement or a reduced repayment plan. Repossession is only ever a last resort.
Your car may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a loan secured against it.
Questions from Blackburn drivers
How quickly could I get the money?
Apply online at any time: an underwriter usually calls within 2 working hours, and the whole process is usually complete within 24 working hours.
Will checking my quote affect my credit score?
No. Getting your quote uses a soft credit search with TransUnion, which does not affect your credit score.
Is Darwen included?
Yes. We lend across Blackburn with Darwen, the wider North West and the rest of the UK. You apply online and speak to us by phone, wherever you are.
Do you need to see my bank statements if I receive benefits?
Yes, in the same way as for every applicant. You share 60 days of statements through Open Banking, which helps us check that the repayments are affordable for you.
Borrowing responsibly. We only lend when the repayments are affordable for you. Our service is not advised, so if you are worried about money you can get free, impartial help from MoneyHelper, StepChange or Citizens Advice.
Across the UK
We lend wherever you live.
Everything happens online and by phone, so you can apply from anywhere in the UK. Find out more about borrowing elsewhere in the North West:
