Bad credit? You may still be able to borrow.
A logbook loan is secured against your vehicle, so we look at what it is worth and whether the repayments are affordable for you, not just your credit score.

How we decide
More than a credit score.
-
Soft search first
Getting your quote uses a soft credit search with TransUnion, which does not affect your credit score.
-
Your vehicle counts
Our decision is based on the value of your vehicle and whether you can afford the repayments, not just your credit score.
-
Affordability comes first
We only lend when the repayments are affordable for you, and check your bank statements securely through Open Banking.
-
Every application on its merits
We understand that not everyone has a perfect credit history, and look at each application on its own merits.
What counts as bad credit?
Bad credit can mean missed payments, defaults, County Court Judgments (CCJs), a short credit history or a low score after a difficult time. We look at the whole picture: your vehicle, your income and your spending, as well as your credit file.
Please be as accurate as you can about your finances when you apply. As a responsible lender we carry out further checks, including your bank statements.
Borrowing responsibly
A logbook loan is secured against your vehicle. Your car may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a loan secured against it.
We only lend when the repayments are affordable for you. Our service is not advised, so if you are worried about money you can get free, impartial help from MoneyHelper, StepChange or Citizens Advice.
Bad credit questions
Can I get a loan with bad credit or CCJs?
You may still be able to borrow. Our decision is based on the value of your vehicle and whether you can afford the repayments, not just your credit score. We look at every application on its own merits and understand that not everyone has a perfect credit history.
Will applying affect my credit score?
No. We run a soft credit search with TransUnion, which does not affect your credit score.
Can I apply if I receive benefits?
Yes. As long as you meet the criteria and can comfortably afford the repayments, we will consider your application.
What if my application is unsuccessful?
This is usually because the vehicle does not meet our criteria yet, for example you are not yet the owner or do not have all the right documents. You are welcome to apply again when you do. With your permission, we can pass your details to one of our trusted partners, who may be able to offer you an alternative loan.
What happens if I can't keep up my repayments?
Talk to us as early as you can, as soon as your circumstances change. We will work with you to find a good outcome, such as a payment arrangement or a reduced repayment plan. Your car may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a loan secured against it.
